In the afternoon, is free with optional option for a short hike in the Dentelles de Montmirail.
From Gigondas to Mazan by Dentelles de Montmirail and Col de la Madeleine
The day begins in the vineyards of Côtes du Rhône then the road leads you on a road lined with olive trees on the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail with the edges of torn limestones so characteristic. Mont Ventoux is always present and becomes more and more impressive as we approach it. Between Malaucène and Bédoin, the two gates for its ascent, you will graze it before heading to Mazan and its elegant castle which will be your hotel for the next 3 nights.
Gorges of the Nesque
The itinerary of the day takes you to the country of lavender. At the exit of the small village of Ville sur Auzon, the rise of the gorges of the Nesque is a road whose beauty is breathtaking. 20 km of moderate rise along the limestone cliffs of this canyon. Enjoy the view! The return will offer you among other panoramas of all beauty on the Mont Ventoux and leases fields of lavender during the season.
The Monts de Vaucluse - Wild Provence
This route will sometimes give you the impression of being alone in the world in the middle of the Provencal scrubland, these roads are among the most beautiful. The itinerary of the day goes under the village of Venasque and takes the direction of the Col de Murs then go down to the cliffs of Lioux. After lunch in the small village of Murs, the return road will take you to the village of Venasque classified among the most beautiful villages in France and whose cherries are a local must not miss in the spring.
To the Sorgues
It's a morning of cycling this Wednesday that will take you from Comtat Venaissin to Fontaine de Vaucluse, heart of the Sorgues. It is in this village that the Sorgue river mysteriously springs from its abyss. A typical and atypical place to live in the pleasant Hotel du Poète. After lunch, embark on a canoe for a relaxing and refreshing ride on the crystal clear waters of the Sorgues.
The Provençal Market of Isle sur la Sorgue
Morning to the Provençal Venice, Thursday morning is a market day in the streets of the city. Live the market like a local, and do not miss a drink like the locals by the river at the Café de la Sorgue or the terrace of the Café de France on the church square. After lunch, head to two small typical villages offering pretty views before returning to Fontaine de Vaucluse.
On the way to the Luberon
Change of scenery for this last day of cycling, Gordes, Roussillon and ochres and before returning, Ménerbes on its rocky peak. On the way back, we will stop in an olive oil mill. Gastronomic dinner at Fontaine de Vaucluse on the banks of the Sorgues.
